Frequently Asked Questions
-
We serve K-12 educators—teachers, counselors, librarians, paraprofessionals, administrators, and support staff—who are experiencing a medical crisis, sudden life-altering loss, severe financial disruption connected to a crisis, or a caregiver crisis. Our care extends to the educator’s spouse and dependent children as well.
-
No. Hope Weavers provides care at no cost to the educator or their family. We are funded entirely by donations and community partnerships.
-
You do not need to be a Christian. Hope Weavers is a faith-based organization grounded in biblical principles, and our care is delivered through that lens—but we serve any educator in crisis, regardless of their personal faith. We do ask that participants acknowledge our faith-driven mission as part of the intake process.
-
Absolutely. In fact, many of our referrals come from colleagues, principals, pastors, or family members. You can submit a referral through our Care Intake form. We’ll take it from there with compassion and confidentiality.

We are based in Abilene, Texas, and currently serve educators in the West Texas region. Our vision is to expand as capacity grows, but we believe in doing deep, excellent work in our community before stretching wide.
-
It depends on the need. Our care is individualized, not one-size-fits-all. Examples include meal coordination, transportation, temporary financial assistance, counseling referrals, spiritual encouragement, school communication support, and connections to vetted community professionals. Our care spans four pillars: mind, body, spirit, and community.
-
Three things set us apart. First, we are transformational, not transactional. We walk with families over time, not just in moments of urgency. Second, we address the whole person across four integrated pillars. Third, our model is inspired by Mark 2: we don’t wait for people to come to us. We go to them, remove obstacles, and carry them to the help they need.
-
Yes. Hope Weavers takes confidentiality seriously. Information is shared only with team members and community partners who are directly involved in your care, and only with your written consent. We are also bound by mandatory reporting laws in the state of Texas.

You can give financially through our online donation page, share our mission with educators and churches in your network, or pray for the families we serve. Every act of generosity—no matter the distance—makes a difference.
